I woke up, to what I thought would be just another day at work. I worked as a secretary at the twin towers. I have to be in by 9:00. At 8:40 I had decided to get some breakfast from the deli before the long day of work began. While I was waiting in line to make my purchase, a woman ran into the deli claiming that there was a plane accident. I just thought she was another crazy woman. Everyone ran outside to see what she was talking about. I could not believe my eyes. The sky was up in smoke. People were literally running for there lives. I looked to see were all of this was coming from. There was a gaping whole in the North tower of the World Trade Center. I broke down crying as I realized the place I work, and all of my co-workers would soon be burnt to a crisp. I didn't know how this plane crash had happened at first, but when I saw a second plane headed toward the South tower of the World Trade Center, i knew that this wasn't an accident. The World Trade Center was under a terrorist attack. I watched as the plane crashed into the South Tower. I had never seen anything like this. People were running through the streets covered in blood. Everyone was frantic not knowing what to do. I began to run for my life, praying that it would all stop. Fortunately, I made it home that day. I was in such shock, that I didn't leave the house for weeks. I felt sort of guilty knowing that if this attack had happened ten minutes later, I would not be alive. I later found out the damage done. 2,819 people were killed. 3,051 children lost a parent. September 11, 2001, is a horrible day that will forever be remembered.
