Digital Story 2

On April 13, I volunteered in a fashion show to raise money for an organization called "To Write Love On Her Arms." This organization raises money for unfortunate people who are suicidal, have a addictions, were abused, or are depressed. I didn't know how man people suffered from these misfortunes until I volunteered in the fashion show. This organization's website has links for people with these problems to find help. My friend Pariis organized this fashion show. It was held at the Staten and each ticket cost 45 dollars. Along with watching the fashion show, ticket buyers also got a wonderful meal and dessert. Each girl participating in the fashion show had four outfits. BCBG donated us each two dresses after hearing about the cause. We also got a vintage store on Staten Island to donate clothes.  In the beginning of the show, Pariis read a story about someone that overcame an addiction with the help of "To Write Love on Her Arms.". The story that was read was about a single mother who was an alchoholic. This woman turned to alcohol when her husband left her and she was left to raise two children on her own without any money. After she got help, she was able to get her life together, get a good job, and she became a good mother. I think that this story made people more aware of the organization and more eager to help. I think that more people should help by donating time or money into organizations like these. Your money is going to a good cause and you will feel good knowing that you are helping someone live a better life.

"Graduate Portfolio Reflection - Story 1"

My project relates to the graduate profile because it has made me "An Effective User of Technology." For the project that our class had to complete, we had to make a video with pictures and music. The video had to have pictures that answered questions about our lives. The background music had to relate to to the pictures and text. This project made me an effective user of technology because I learned many new things. I learned how to take pictures from Google, and add them to iMovie. Although I didn't add a voice recording to my video, I now know how to. I learned how to use my flash drive to take music from one computer, and put it on another. I learned how to change the amount of seconds for each picture. I also learned how to add text to the photos. Overall, this project has taught me many new things which has me me an effective user of technology.
